Accoya® Wood Goes Wild
2008 will see the opening of a new area at Burgers Zoo in the Netherlands. The Rimba area of the zoo covers 2 hectares and will be home to a number of Malaysian species, including honey bears and monkeys. Naturally, the project team wanted to assure the best for their charges in order to keep both animals and humans safe and secure and the natural setting demanded something aesthetically appealing for the fence posts. Additional requirements were that the material should be FSC and KOMO certified, long-lasting and non-toxic and the search for the ideal material turned to Accoya® wood. Titan Wood was able to supply the zoo’s requirements, meeting a tight deadline, and the animals of Burgers Zoo will be able to safely enjoy their attractive new enclosure for many years to come.
