Does Accoya® Wood need special fixings?
The pH (acidity) of Accoya® Wood is increased slightly compared to normal pine. The increase has been carefully measured and the test programme found it is similar to Oak. As the wood is capable for a minimum 60 year service life it is recommended that stainless steel fixings be used. The paint film applied in factory finishing prevents an interaction between the substrate and the hardware.
