Position: Project Manager
Report to: Project Director
Summary of Key responsibilities
The Project Manager will initially report directly to the Project Director. He will be responsible from Basic Engineering Package through successful capacity demonstration of the company's Nanjing Factory project in China.
Specifically, these responsibilities will include:
1.Management and Definition of the detailed Project Planning
• Basic Engineering Package and Capital Estimates
• Schedule and budget conformance
• Project Review Meetings
2.Coordination of all parties related to the Nanjing Factory Project,e.g.
• As the single-point-of-contact with the designated EPCM firm and with any designated construction contractors.
• Technology licensor ‘s Wood Engineering, Basic Engineering Firm, Detailed Engineering Firm and Design Institutes as may be requested or coordinated by the Engineering Manager.
• Key equipment suppliers as may be requested or coordinated with the Purchasing Director.
• Industrial Park, Permit Agencies and Government Officials.
• All other relevant suppliers and partners.
3.Ultimate Quality control of the Project at every stage.
4.Getting needed input and decisions from the organization to assure schedule and costs are effectively managed, in particular the decision for a LSEPC versus own contractor management.
5.Definition of all Chemical processes, Environmental Processes, Personal Protection, Fire Safety Systems, Site Security and Safety Procedure.
6.Manage all subordinates which may include a Construction Manager and indirectly the Government Relations Specialist.
Job requirements
Work experience –The candidate will be a Senior level Project Manager with a demonstrated track record for Projects of 500 million RMB or larger. Chemical / Wood Processing Plant operations / maintenance / engineering experience is a plus. Work experience with a foreign (non-Chinese) multinational is a plus. Strong negotiation skills are a must.
Education –The candidate should have earned a Chemical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering Degree from a recognized Chinese or International university. For the most senior and very experienced candidates with a proven track record of successful projects over 500 million RMB the degree requirement can be waived.
